  1. Hey committee members! I am not sure how we are going to get some of the information we need when it comes to teacher retention rate. The budget crisis has muddied these waters. I know of one teacher at MES who announced she was not coming back which had nothing to due with the budget. How many others do we have like this? Jodi, I am guessing you have the numbers for retirement. Right? Bean

  2. What is the status of the Aspiring Administrators' Cohort? Are we currently providing opportunities for these aspiring administrators?

  3. It will be hard to recruit teachers statewide with the budget the way it is. Teaching use to be a safe field, but now those that just graduated are wondering what they will do. I am sure we will have a statewide shortage once everything is back on track.

  4. Arnold- I had the same question about the Aspiring Administrators Cohort. I know recognize that there will be few to no funds so why couldn't we get together and share our in-house expertise? At least we would have a cohort developed or developing. Thoughts?

  6. If you guys decide to do something in-house for the Aspiring Administrator's, I have a CD set from Hayden Hasty that I would be glad to loan out. They are an excellent resource. His sessions were outstanding.

  7. I like that idea of "growing our own administrators"

  8. I know this is a bad time to talk $$$$, but if we are going to grow our own, we need to give them some aspects of Administrative Duties for a small stipend. Kind of a "trial by fire." Similar to a lead teacher role

  9. Under Standard 2.2, there is mention of a PDA Walkthrough Document. Can someone clarify what this is for me?

  10. Alissa, does this mean that on either a BlackBerry, Palm or Pocket PC there would be a McRel document you could use inside a classroom when observing a teacher and would not have to carry the manual with you? I may be reaching on this one.

  11. That would be wonderful, wouldn't it? I would like to have a one page check-off document.
