Globally Competitive Students

  1. Committee Members: I saw on the plan, in purple, that we need to change the months for the benchmark testing. Do we know if we will have Study Island for the next year? Which months due we need to go to?

  2. Due to budget constraints Study Island was cut this year. ClasScape will be utilized instead. ClasScape offers benchmarking that follow NC Standard course of study but not the permanent access to remedial curriculum that Study Island offered... But is was only a fraction of the cost...

  3. Perhaps through our collective Worldview experiences we can develop a partnership with other schools or school entitites beyond our borders. This summer, the Worldview folks were certainly willing to assist with any linkage and setup. Perhaps a coordinated county-wide effort where multiple CCS schools can connect with same school, promoting some CCS cross county collaboration as well. Thoughts?

  4. TCEC has a partnership with Denmark. There was a team from there visiting early spring of 2009.

We will need to look at iSchool through UNCG more to keep our online numbers up if Learn and Earn is cut in the budget.
